Information for available positions coming soon

New piercer info
We are about to start the search for a new team member, and as a good fit is more important than experience to us, we are opening this search right up to all levels of experience; from no experience to some, to years of experience.

There are a few key things we are looking for in this role, which is why we have created this page.

This will prevent wasting your time and ours. If you don’t think you’re a good fit, or you don’t see yourself staying with us long term in a career capacity; please don’t apply.

This isn’t for weekend enthusiasts or a ‘cool job’.

This is for those that live and breathe the art of body piercing and jewellery designing.

This information will help those interested to prepare & put their best foot forward and have the best chance to secure a spot in our team, or even another studio.

We have never in our 13 years of being open published a position available on our team to the public. This is a rare opportunity and we intend on finding the right fit.

We are not desperate to fill a position, this is a new position for the right person; which means it may or may not be filled quickly.

The most important requirements:
- You must love body piercing & jewellery styling. If you only love piercing & are not so into jewellery, do not apply. You are better suited to a fast paced store with counter staff and not a luxury, one-on-one service Studio; like ours. There isn’t anything wrong with that, there is a place for you elsewhere, but it’s not with us.

- You must be a creative person with an eye for detail. You will be given the opportunity to design collections of your own and be required to quality control arrivals. An eye for detail is a must as your work will include working with 1mm gemstones and creating unique customer looks. A desire to be creative must be in your DNA in order to assist clients in their needs and design desires along with being able to create something truly meaningful.

- You must love seeing others happy & you must love making others happy. Our whole purpose is to ensure our clients feel appreciated, supported and happy throughout their experience with us.

- You must care so deeply about your clients results and your work that you are willing to continually learn to improve yourself.

- You must have a desire to do your best and be your best.

- You must be a strong communicator in order to assist clients and be a strong future leader.

- You must have the desire to learn full studio management and all aspects of piercing. Our team are required to know the ins and out of all areas so that we have a team all capable of stepping up when needed and being strong leaders. While we require you to learn all aspects, you will not be required to carry out all piercing services. It is your right to choose what is comfortable for you. For example; you will be required to learn in theory information involving intimate piercings so that you can assist with jewellery inquiries and/or client care, but you do not have to learn to perform these piercings or watch these piercings in any capacity. We strongly believe in personal rights to choose your comfort and path.

- You must be familiar with social media platforms and have a desire to showcase you work.

- You must love our brand.

- You must align with our values & mission. The following is from our Studio Policy Book for staff only. All team members receive a copy prior to starting with us, but these values should be a match prior to applying which is why we are sharing it publicly now.

Our Mission

Our mission is to always deliver the best quality products and service that our industry has to offer.

To maintain our position as one of Australia's first luxury piercing and styling practice, valuing safety and care above all else.

Our piercers are more than weekend enthusiasts, our piercers are visionaries, our piercers are passionate about making others happy and allowing them to shine. Our piercers are memorable and remarkable. We want people to travel for you because you are an expert, not just another piercer.

We want our team to feel so supported, successful and fulfilled in their career that it radiates into their personal lives creating a positive impact all round.

Cherry… Core Values

Authenticity - Love what we do, and do what we love.

Integrity - Never lie or mislead to make a sale.

Support - Always go above and beyond to provide care for our clients as well as our team.

Freedom - To inspire self expression and creativity.

This role will include:

- All aspects of theory & technical training regarding body piercing services & studio management.

Pay structures include:
- Award rates for apprentices (this is the same pay rate as all fully trained franchise employee piercers. This means even if you have been piercing for years in a franchise your title & training with us won’t change your pay).

- Depending on skill set, role and transition rate of personal development, fully trained & experienced team members starting rate are $35-$40 p/hr, plus super. Then there are extras including & not limited to; holidays, sick leave, wellness days, birthdays off, extra training courses, conferences, personal development coaching & spontaneous financial extras based on positive attitudes & team effort; never sales results.

We may be a retail & customer service studio, but we do close over holidays, so you’ll never work Christmas or New Years with us.

We have closed periods each quarter for full team time off, so no one is left overwhelmed. You are of course welcome to take extra time off  should these times not be suitable, however as a team we discuss & map out our holiday closure plan annually and as the dates come up, to ensure everyone is happy with holidays.

Work/life balance & seeing those you love is important to us.

I as a team leader & Studio owner fulfil orders and respond to emails in these times to ensure customer care is managed, ensuring you can mindfully switch off.

This position is going to be a building role.

And the volume of hours is going to be dependent on your abilities & value you contribute to the team, along with what you are looking for.

This role will start as a part time position to see how you fit without compromising our reputation and client experience while learning.

We would love this role to expand to full time, however if that is not suitable for your needs we are happy to keep the position part time.

Hours and days are up for discussion.

Our Studio hours are 10am - 6pm, Tuesday to Saturday.

We are closed on Sunday and Monday.

If this sounds great to you and you are an opportunity grabber, we would love to hear from you.

Your Resume:
Include a cover letter as long or short as you wish; describing anything you wish to share. Be it a passion story of why you love body piercing, your goals and dreams, why working at Cherrycore matters to you or anything else.

We want to get a sense of you and if you feel like you’re the type of person that isn’t good at writing, feel free to record yourself speaking from the heart or simply write as best you can and add that you’re a verbal person and would like an opportunity to verbally present yourself.

We understand everyone has their own strengths. I can type til the cows come home, but I can’t spell or use punctuation well at all. There are no judgements on authenticity, and being open and honest about yourself will only help us understand how to help you best should you become part of our team. We are a neurodivergent team and value individuality. You knowing your strengths and weaknesses will allow us to provide an education that plays on your strengths, speeding up your education rather than focusing on strengthening your weaknesses first.

In your resume; if you haven’t worked before or have little experience, feel free to write out what tasks you do at home and why they are important to you. For example; if you take the rubbish out, list this as a skill and a short reason why proper disposal is important.

You don’t have to have a work history to apply, but I want to see you understand the importance of being a good team member. So showing that you are a good team mate at home is a start and your duties will include infection control, which includes cleaning. I want to know you know how to be clean and tidy, so don't be afraid to list basic chores.

I’ll be honest; I review a lot of poorly written resumes and it’s not that they are filled with spelling errors, it’s that they are so selfishly written and as someone that gives my all to my team, I expect your resume to have an aspect of desire to be part of our team and want be part of the growth that we aim for.

I don’t want to see resumes clearly written to get a job anywhere. We don’t do basic, we are extra, so let yourself be extra without holding back.

There is only a spot for one person and if you want it; show it. What makes you different from others? Tell me why you think you will be the right fit.

Here are some advantages you can skill up on in the meantime. Even if you don’t apply, these things will help you should you wish to enter the industry at any stage or Studio.

Knowing or having been trained in any of these areas prior should be highlighted on your resume. This curriculum & more is covered in our apprenticeship program, but some is free to access yourself now, so start Googling.

Start working on your Cover Letter and Resume now, but don’t send it yet

We want you to think about it and give you time to prepare yourself as this information has never been disclosed before and really is the best way to secure a position in any Studio.

Be sure to ask for feedback within 3 days of receiving confirmation from us that your application was not successful. Otherwise, I will delete your email from our system, and will not be able to recall key areas for you. I want you to succeed in your piercing dreams, even if it’s not on my team now or in the future. Please don’t hesitate to ask; it’s the least I can do for your time and effort in applying.
