The Best Gift Tip for Body Jewellery Lovers

Buying jewellery for someone you love can be incredibly thoughtful.

The challenge?

Body jewellery sizing can be surprisingly specific, and unless you know exactly what someone wears, selecting the perfect piece can sometimes feel a little daunting.

Why Sizing Matters

Unlike traditional jewellery, body jewellery isn't simply about choosing a style you think they'll love.

Length, gauge, wearable area and piercing placement all play an important role in ensuring jewellery is comfortable, safe and suitable for the wearer.

Adding another layer of complexity, Victorian consumer laws (for good reason) prevent personal body jewellery from being returned due to change of mind. Once jewellery leaves the studio, there is no way for us to verify how it has been stored or handled, making returns a safety concern.

That's why getting it right from the start is so important.

Fortunately, there are a few ways to make gifting body jewellery both thoughtful and stress-free.

Option One: They Already Have Something in Mind

Has your loved one been dropping hints?

Have they shown you a particular piece online?

Maybe they've sent screenshots, tagged you in a post or casually mentioned something they adore.

If so, you're already halfway there.

One of our favourite gifting options is purchasing the decorative attachment while leaving the barbell or wearable component to be professionally fitted later.

The attachment is often the most exciting part of the jewellery - the gemstone, design or decorative feature that caught their eye in the first place.

We can beautifully gift wrap the attachment and provide a gift card for the barbell or fitting component. If you'd prefer to keep the value of the gift private, we can simply note the fitting information rather than the dollar amount.

When they're ready, they can visit the studio for a personalised fitting appointment where we'll assess sizing, discuss options and securely install the jewellery.

The gift remains a surprise, while still ensuring the final fit is perfect.

Option Two: You're Choosing a Surprise

Not sure what size they wear?

Not completely confident you've chosen the right piece?

A gift card can be an excellent option without feeling impersonal.

In fact, one of my favourite suggestions is to pair the gift card with a photo of the jewellery you were considering.

Print an image of the piece, write a thoughtful message explaining why it reminded you of them, and include it alongside the gift card.

For an extra-special touch, could be saving the image, crop it to a card size and print it on quality paper or sticking into a card. It feels far more personal and considered than simply handing over a gift card. This tells them:

"I saw this and thought of you."

But it also gives them the freedom to confirm that the style, placement and sizing are exactly right for them.

The Perfect Gift Doesn't Have to Be Perfectly Sized

At the end of the day, the most meaningful gifts are the ones that show thought, care and attention.

Whether you're purchasing a specific piece, organising a custom fitting experience or giving the freedom of a gift card, there are plenty of ways to create a memorable jewellery gift without worrying about getting every measurement exactly right.
