We Love a Jewellery Glow-Up!

Some of our favourite styling projects involve piercings that were done 10, 15, or even 20 years ago.

Whether your piercing sits at an unusual angle, isn't in a traditional placement, or simply isn't looking the way you'd like anymore, don't stress. More often than not, we can create something beautiful with what you already have.

One of the biggest misconceptions people have is that an older piercing is somehow "wrong" because it isn't perfectly positioned. The reality is that once a piercing is well healed and healthy, our focus isn't on judging how it got there - it's on helping you love it.

Take this conch piercing as an example. Technically, it sits deeper towards the head than what would typically be considered a standard placement. Does that matter? Not really. It's fully healed, healthy, and causing no issues.

Sometimes piercings are placed differently to accommodate a certain piece of jewellery or it may have just been incorrectly placed from the start, and sometimes even perfectly executed piercings can heal in unexpected ways. Every body is unique, it doesn’t matter how you got the piercing.

Our role is to assess what you've got, guide you through your options, and create a jewellery curation that works with your anatomy rather than against it.

One thing we hear all the time is, "Please don't judge me."

Trust us - we won’t but if you have a good story we definitely want to hear it!

Most of us at Cherrycore got pierced as teenagers with some questionable choices, in a time when education about piercing wasn’t so widely know.

I personally had a piercer pierce my industrial and then when it wasn’t healing they changed it to two separate rings and said change it later once healed, well the rings didn’t help anything and the bigger issues was I’m completely not suitable for an industrial piercing and they did it anyway cos they didn’t know. And the even crazier thing is when I was a little older I had another piercer do the other ear and turns out same thing happened, that ear wasn’t suited ever! It wasn’t until I took photos of my ear and was a piercer with some experience that I really questioned why all that trouble didn’t work out and when I realised omg! Was I shocked that I had worked with two different people that both knew nothing about anatomy and me as a 16yr was able to stop take a photo and question the issues. So not only have I experienced it from a client perspective I’ve seen it all from a professional perspective too.

We've seen questionable jewellery, interesting placement choices, and had some fun reminiscing over our youths with great piercing stories.

If anything, we're usually impressed that some of these piercings healed as well as they did.

What excites us is the challenge.
