Why Do I See The Same Jewellery Photos Everywhere Online?

One of the most common questions we receive is:

"Why does this jewellery look the same as something I've seen on Etsy, another website, or a different jewellery store?"

It's a fair question, and the answer is more complicated than most people realise.

Product Images Don't Always Tell The Whole Story

The body jewellery industry has changed significantly over the past decade. Many manufacturers create computer-generated product renders that are shared with retailers worldwide and some are stolen images of products or piercings. As a result, you may see identical images being used across multiple websites, even when the final products are not identical.

At Cherrycore, we always prefer to use photographs of the actual finished jewellery whenever possible. However, sometimes we also use supplier-provided renders, particularly when showcasing new releases or products that haven't yet been professionally photographed.

If you're ever unsure about a piece, you're welcome to contact us and request photographs of in-stock items before purchasing online, or visit us in-store to view them in person.

The Same Design Doesn't Always Mean The Same Quality

Many people assume that if two products share the same image, they must be the same item. Unfortunately, that's not always the case.

Modern manufacturing relies heavily on digital design files. Manufacturers, brands, and design teams often create and share production files, allowing similar or identical designs to be produced by multiple companies.

The difference lies in the details:

  • Material quality
  • Manufacturing standards
  • Gem setting quality
  • Surface finishing
  • Quality control procedures
  • Post-production inspection

Two pieces may look identical in a photograph while being vastly different in quality when viewed under magnification or worn long-term.

How Cherrycore Sources Jewellery

Cherrycore carries a carefully curated range of jewellery from both established manufacturers and custom production partners.

Some pieces are sourced from internationally recognised brands. Others are produced through trusted manufacturing partners using our own specifications and quality requirements.

The reality is that modern manufacturing allows experienced studios and designers to create exceptional jewellery without owning a factory themselves. Access to high-quality digital manufacturing has opened opportunities for innovation, customisation, and improved material selection.

At the same time, it has also created opportunities for lower-quality products to enter the market, making it more important than ever to know who you're buying from.

Why We Focus On Quality Control

We completely understand why customers have concerns about jewellery quality. It can be difficult to navigate a market where similar designs appear across dozens of websites.

This is why we don't rely solely on brand names.

Every piece that enters Cherrycore is assessed for quality before being fitted or shipped. We evaluate workmanship, finish quality, gemstone security, threading, polish, and overall presentation.

Our loyalty is to quality - not to a particular manufacturer.

Even before we were Victoria's first APP and AUPP membered studio, our reputation has always been built on maintaining high standards and client care. We take that responsibility seriously.

What About "Professional Brands"?

The term "professional jewellery brand" is often used within the piercing industry, but it can sometimes create confusion.

Generally, it refers to brands that are widely used by professional piercers and studios.

Some clients prefer to purchase only from long-established manufacturers with third-party mill certs. If that's your preference, we're happy to help. These companies have earned strong reputations within the industry and continue to produce excellent jewellery.

However, mill certificates alone do not guarantee the quality of the finished product. Certificates  confirms the raw material meets a particular standard; it does not assess the final polishing, machining, gemstone setting, or overall workmanship.

That's where professional quality control remains essential.

Our Approach

All titanium jewellery sold by Cherrycore is manufactured from implant-grade titanium and sourced from suppliers that meet our quality requirements.

Whether a piece comes from a globally recognised brand or a trusted custom manufacturing partner, it undergoes the same assessment process before reaching our clients.

If you have a preference for a particular manufacturer, we're always happy to assist with any customisations, discuss available options and arrange custom ordering for you.
